a little update

I found that I write less and less often as time goes on.
Last time I wrote was during winter break...now it's April and almost (!) summer.
I guess there isn't much to write about because my life is so ordinary.
Can't wait til summer...since I'm getting my license (or I hope I am), I suddenly have lots of plans.

horror & religion

Sorry, no picture today :)
Anyways
I recently developed a liking to Asian horror films.
They are scarier than American horror films, and I love the twist at the end.
Some that were good are Cut, Reincarnation, and Ghost (haha talk about simple titles). I wanna watch the One Last Call series and the original Dark Waters.
I absolutely love horror movies...

On a completely unrelated subject;
I heard a couple days ago that the movie Golden Compass had been boycotted by Catholic groups because it contained Atheist messages.
This is just my opinion (you don't have to agree), but to me, as an Agnostic, this was a little odd; the religious group got riled up because they regarded this as an anti-God propaganda.
However, Nicole Kidman, who played a major part on the film, was quoted saying that she thought this film was definitely NOT anti-religion and thought the Catholic group was being a little paranoid.
My thought is, if religious groups get worked up about a movie that seems to have an "anti-God" connotation, why don't the non-religious boycott movies such as Nativity Story or The Passion of the Christ, which are obviously pro-religion?
As much as religious people are afraid of their children becoming Atheist because of a movie, shouldn't strictly non-religious people be afraid of their children becoming religious?
I say movies are movies and should be left as movies, not interpreted as propaganda material. I mean, I just go to the theaters to have fun, not to turn Catholic or Christian or Atheist.

I hate people who force their beliefs on others as much as I love Asian horror films. Just saying.

Good night.

Learned new song on guitar.. The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson. I've known her for a while now but just recently realized how much I like her songs.

For those of you who like mellow acoustic, I suggest Keep Breathing or Die Alone for an edgier tone.. both, of course, by Ingrid Michaelson.

For catchy pop-punk rock with unique lyrics and a unique voice, check out Motion City Soundtrack's newest album,Even If It Kills Me.

Apart from digging up music, my days are pretty uneventful. Winter formal season!
Haha I'm looking forward to seeing this year's couples, even though that may make me sound like a creep.

I wish winter break was here.

reality shows

haha i dont even know who reads this
anyways

i've noticed a pattern in the maury show's paternity tests
the women always claim that their babies have some feature that looks like the accused father...and sometimes they really do not look anything alike
i think they're hallucinating or lying to themselves b/c they are desperate
call me cynical.. haha

when the guy is NOT the father, i noticed he usually whoops loudly or jumps around the stage, while the woman runs backstage to cry uncontrollably .. but the camera still follows her to reveal her shame to everybody
no use running backstage i guess

but when the guy IS the father, he suddenly changes from a raging maniac who swears at a mile a minute to a gentle "father figure," bending over his baby and saying that he's going to take care of his baby. the woman is usually screaming things like "WHATD I TELL YOU?" to him. .

are they paid to "act" on these maury shows? haha sometimes i wonder.

it's odd how i notice these things unless others do it too
i guess this is going to be a blog of all the things i think are weird
